Jaclyn Bowen, the Executive Director of Clean Label Project (a non-profit focused on health and transparency in consumer product labeling) recently posted an article providing a “cheat sheet” for consumers to be aware of ingredients which may contain toxic heavy metals. The top offenders on the list include:
- Chocolate (Cadmium)
- Rice and rice-based ingredients (Arsenic)
- Fish-based ingredients (Mercury)
- Spices (Lead)
- Water (Lead)
